You just Googled “CrossFit Gyms Near Me” and here you are.

I’m sure the choices are plentiful, especially here around Greater Cleveland. We’re not the only show in town. But we totally believe in the CrossFit methodology and believe in it so much that we want to give you 4 things to consider when searching on “CrossFit Gyms Near me”.

1 – Think beyond price and location.

When deciding on a gym it might be easy to boil the decision down to price and location. It makes some sense. But in my opinion a great CrossFit gym with high quality coaching and a community that you click with is worth the extra  few 10-15 dollars and 10-15 minute drive.

Part of the effectiveness of CrossFit is that there is a social aspect in any gym. And it is not just the members. You have to click with the coaches as well. You really want to find coaches and members that you feel you can click with and grow with.

I tell everyone that moves to our area and is looking for a new gym home to try multiple CrossFit gyms. Yes, CrossFit can be expensive. Guess what…it can also be cheap. But most of the time you get what you pay for. So you need to ask yourself the following: Do you just want access to equipment and not much in the way of service or coaching? If that is the case, then it’s possible that a lower priced option is good for you.

At Strong Tower we pride ourselves on quality coaching. We know that everyone’s goals are unique so we provide our clients with options. Group classes, nutrition, 1-on-1 personal training services, and more. If you want a higher value service with a route to faster results than group classes then you might want to give thought a CrossFit gym that provides 1-on-1 personal training services.

2 – Do the “CrossFit Boxes Near Me” understand my goals?

The most successful CrossFit gyms should understand the individual nature of the wants, needs and limitations of their clients. This begins with a goal setting session when you first walk in. We call ours a No Sweat Intro. During this intro we ask what your goals are prescribe the best course of action.

CrossFit group classes work WONDERS for so many people. But maybe you require or desire more 1-on-1 attention. Or maybe your weight loss goal requires you to work on nutrition. Our nutrition is written and backed by an actual Registered Dietitian and designed around your lifestyle.

See, If no one sits down with you to learn about your goals then they don’t truly understand how to best help you.

3 – Do the “CrossFit Clubs Near Me” offer nutrition coaching?

As I was saying… The best CrossFit gyms in your area should offer nutrition. You cannot out-train a bad diet. It just can’t be done.

CrossFit is not (just) about barbells and kipping pullups. The foundation of CrossFit is actually nutrition.

Greg Glassman, the founder of CrossFit defined Fitness in 100 words as

“Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch, and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: deadlift, clean, squat, presses, clean-and-jerk and snatch.” Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics; Pullups, dips, rope climbs, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstands, pirouettes, flips, splits and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc. hard and fast. Five or six days per week, mix these elements in as many combinations and patters as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.”

See how they define fitness and where they prioritize nutrition in that definition?

Most people quit gyms when they are not seeing the results they want. If you want results and want them faster you need nutrition as well.

Why not find a gym where you can get everything you need?

4 – Do you want a “CrossFit Gym Near Me” or are you really searching for a “CrossFit Personal Trainer Near Me”

Just like nutrition, personal training can get you to your results MUCH faster than group training. Especially if you are new to CrossFit, I highly advise that you start in a 1-on-1 personal training environment. This will set you up for success like nothing else!

A CrossFit gym in your area that offers personal training is the best route to start. You may even find that you enjoy the 1-on-1 environment more than group training.

CrossFit is a training methodology. Group training and personal training is avenue to which it is delivered to the clientele.

So take a look around. See what the other gyms are about. And when you’re ready, book a free No Sweat Intro with us so you can see where we stack up.
